Breakfast

On the cusp of a big announcement, a frazzled mom prepares a glorious breakfast for her family. But, when they run for the door before even sampling her buffet, Mom takes matters into her own hands - holding them hostage until every scrap of food is gone.

This is a short film I directed and co-produced with two other people, but I did not write this one. Directing a script that I did not write presented a new personal challenge. When I’m writing, I’m almost filming the movie in my head already then and there. Having the script presented to me, of course I loved it, but then creating the shot list was a new challenge. Not to mention we had an actor drop out the night before shooting and barely managed to successfully replace her. The film came out great, I’m so proud of my team. It’s on the festival circuit right now, so I hope you can catch it soon!
