I’m a filmmaker and photographer living in St. Louis, Missouri. I write, direct, produce, and act, and most of what I make is made with the same close group of friends. Movies got their hooks in me early, but two screenings set the course: The Avengers in 2012, when I first felt what a film could do to a whole room, and Swiss Army Man in college, when I knew I wanted to spend my life making things that could do that to someone else. I studied film production at Webster University, graduating in 2020, and in February 2021 my friends and I started Bomb Squad Productions, our production company and YouTube channel.
That channel is now the crew behind most of my films, and what we have built together is what I am proudest of. Processing… is the clearest example: a short I wrote, directed, produced, and starred in. There is always another short somewhere in production. Before Bomb Squad, there was Diagnosis, a short drawn from my family’s experience with autism that played festivals around the world. Acting is where it started for me, and I still step in front of the camera whenever the part is right. Off a film set, I run Tanner Richard Craft Photography, shooting portraits, weddings, and events around St. Louis. The long-term plan is simple. Keep making movies with my favorite people.
